HARRISBURG – Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar (R-Somerset/Bedford) announced today that New Centerville Rural Volunteer Fire Company will receive $519,156 in funding from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) for renovation and expansion of the Farmer’s and Thresherman’s Jubilee grounds.
“For 70 years, this event has been providing wonderful entertainment for the community to enjoy,” said Metzgar. “I am grateful to see funding set aside to further support this occasion.”
The ongoing project entails the acquisition of a neighboring parcel of land to add additional displays. It will also allow for the construction of newly renovated restroom facilities, overhaul of several historic agricultural display buildings, food concession areas, expanded parking areas and installation of energy-efficient lighting throughout the showgrounds.
Funding for the project was authorized by lawmakers in the Capital Budget Project Itemization Act.
