9/14/2016
All Pennsylvania CDL License Applicants Need a Current State Birth Certificate

If you have a Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or may be applying for one, please be aware of new changes regarding the registration and renewal process.

All current and prospective native Pennsylvanian CDL applicants will need to present a current Pennsylvania state- issued birth certificate when applying at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. All applicants’ birth certificate must have the raised Pennsylvania seal.

CDL applicants can apply for a current Pennsylvania state birth certificate at my district offices in Somerset, Windber and Hyndman.

The cost of a new current state issued birth certificate is $20 per copy. The estimated lead time for processing birth certificate applications is four weeks.
Questions regarding the process for requesting a current Pennsylvania state birth certificate can be directed to my Somerset district office at 814-443-4230.

A special thanks to the organizers of the Farmers and Threshermen’s Jubilee in Somerset County. We had a great time at the event and look forward to attending next year.

Windber Hospital Officially Renamed

The Windber Hospital is now officially renamed as the Chan Soon Shiong Medical Center at Windber and the Windber Research Institute was renamed as the Chan Soon Shiong Institute of Molecular Medicine at Windber.

It was an honor welcoming Dr. Patrick Chan Soon-Shiong into Windber, and we are thankful for his investment in the community and the jobs that the facility provides.
