Reese, Metzgar Congratulate Conemaugh Township Native Elected Chief Clerk of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives
HARRISBURG – Representatives. Mike Reese (R-Westmoreland/Somerset) and Carl Walker Metzgar (R-Somerset/Bedford) today congratulated Conemaugh Township native David Reddecliff upon his election as chief clerk of the House of Representatives last week.

“Dave has been a devoted member of the House Republican Caucus staff for several years, whose service to the commonwealth has prepared him well to serve in this position,” said Reese. “David’s work ethic and professionalism are areas of note, He will be a great asset to the legislation.”

Metzgar said “David is extremely hardworking and the right person for the job, confirming him by unanimous vote only illustrates our faith and confidence in his abilities.”

As chief clerk, Reddecliff is responsible for the daily operations of the House, including convening the House each term to elect the speaker and for the printing of all bills and House journals. His position falls under the jurisdiction of the Bipartisan Management Committee.

Reddecliff, born in Johnstown P.A., He began his service in Indiana County, then moved to Harrisburg where he most recently served as director of Administration for House Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny).

Reddecliff graduated from Conemaugh Township High School in 1978 and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where he majored in political science and graduated in 1982. In 2008, he earned IUP’s Distinguished Alumni Award and is a past president of its Alumni Association Board of Directors.

He began his employment with the House in 1982 and has held several positions, including working with the House Appropriations Committee, the Office of the Majority Leader, and in the Republican Caucus’ District Operations Department.

Reddecliff is the son of William and Sally Reddecliff of Conemaugh Township, Somerset County. He currently resides in Susquehanna Township with his wife, Carole, and their youngest daughter, Hannah, 17. Andrew, 23, their oldest son, is a graduate of Penn State University and their middle child, Maggie, 20, is a student at Ohio State University.
